Michael Emanuel Bell, Jr. is the pastor of the New Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, affectionately called “The City of the Great King”. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Pastor “Mike” was born and reared in Baltimore City, Maryland where he received his early education. He is a proud graduate of Bowie State University where he earned a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration. He also earned and holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Payne Theological Seminary.
Pastor Bell is a fourth generational preacher. His vision for ministry is to change lives by exposing people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is an anointed preacher of the Word whose fiery, energetic style electrifies congregations.
Pastor Mike served as the Executive Minister at Allen Chapel AME Church in South East Washington, DC under the pastoral leadership of his father, the Rev. Dr. Michael E. Bell Sr. He was also the Managing Minister of Purpose Church, a ministry birthed out of Allen Chapel AME, that held services every Sunday in Baltimore, Md. During his time as the managing minister of Purpose Church, the ministry experienced unprecedented spiritual and attendance growth. After serving as the Managing Minister of Purpose Church, Pastor Mike was appointed the pastor of Fairview AME Church in Forest Hill, Maryland.
Pastor Mike has had the privilege to travel the country to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He’s married to Dominique Bell, and the proud father of two sons, Michael and Anthony.
